With an end in sight to the pandemic, we ask the question whether 2021 is a good time to launch an Airbnb business in Bournemouth.
So lockdown is coming to an end, mass vaccinations have started and people are getting ready for a summer where they can finally hug their friends and family! With that in mind everyone has started planning their summer holidays and are getting excited about things being back to normal.
However, only 16% of people surveyed have said that they will be travelling abroad in 2021 for their summer holiday. So what does this mean? 2021 is going to be the year of the staycation!
Bournemouth prepares for post-lockdown visitor surge
According to a recent article on BBC News, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council have put aside an additional £2.4m budget to deal with the incoming influx of visitors to the area this summer. The council have even stated that "exceptional" numbers of visitors were expected when current restrictions end.
So what does this mean?
Bournemouth has always been a top holiday destination for short breaks. The town has consistently been ranked as one of the top seaside towns in the UK. With the popularity the town saw in 2020 with visitors coming from far and wide 2021 is sure to be a very busy time for Bournemouth.
Now is the time!
We have seen a much bigger demand for guest bookings from the end of June through to October
Managing hosts Airbnb listing gives us a unique insight into the amount of interest from travellers wishing to visit Bournemouth. Having run a bnb and worked in the hotel industry previously we have a good understanding of the demand and when it comes.
So far in 2021 demand for accommodation in Bournemouth for the summer has far surpassed any of the last 10 years.
Customers are booking early and unlike previous years where guests wanted to stay for a weekend, we are seeing a lot more 1 to 2 week stays being booked as people switch their trip to the Costa Del Sol to the Costa Del Bournemouth.
